Yuan Ze University is located in Taoyuan City, adjacent to Taipei City. Yuan Ze University (YZU, 元智大學) is a private university established by the Far Eastern Group in 1989.
Although it was established in 1989, Yuan Ze University does not have a long history. However, YZU has quickly been recognized as a model for emerging universities in the shortest time. It is the first and only university to win the National Quality Award in 2003.
Subsequently, the university was designated by the Ministry of Education (MOE) as one of the top 12 universities in Taiwan and received the “Development of Research Excellence and Top University” award in 2005.
Currently, Yuan Ze University has five colleges: College of Engineering, College of Informatics, College of Management, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, and College of Electrical and Communication Engineering. YZU has more than 9,000 students with a 2:1 ratio between undergraduate and graduate students.
The university also focuses on enhancing overall teaching and research capabilities. The College of Management established the first EMBA program in Taiwan. Additionally, the university promotes teaching and research in humanities, general education, and ethics.
