National University of Kaohsiung (NUK) was established in February 2000 by the Taiwanese government with the aim of promoting exceptional economic development in the southern region.
The university consists of 5 colleges and 24 departments. In 2006, the number of candidates applying for graduate programs increased by 9% compared to 2005. The College of Applied Economics at the university is highly ranked in global academic rankings.
