In 1969, Lung Hua College of Industry was approved and began admitting students. Throughout its development, the school has undergone several name changes and expanded into a University of Science and Technology. The institutes and departments offer a variety of disciplines, ranging from Engineering to Arts and Business Administration.

The university is located near New Taipei City, Taiwan. Although it is not situated in a very bustling area or near night markets, the Lung Hua University area has all the necessary infrastructure, including convenience stores and eateries. Lung Hua University is close to Huilong Station, making it easy for students to commute to New Taipei City and Taipei in just 15-20 minutes by train.

With the support of the government, businesses, and the dedicated efforts of the staff, the university has grown significantly. Notable Achievements:

- In 2001, the institute was approved to change its name to Lung Hua University of Science and Technology.

- In 2004, the university added the Department of Engineering Technology to its graduate programs.

- In 2013, Master’s programs in Chemical & Materials Engineering were established. Lung Hua expanded from four current departments to 14 departments and six colleges.

- Currently, the university has three main institutes (Engineering, Management, and Humanities & Social Sciences) along with 14 departments and nine Master's programs.

- Lung Hua University of Science and Technology is one of the most prestigious universities in Taiwan for the quality of its education, with a highly qualified faculty, many of whom graduated from renowned American universities.

- The university’s faculty comprises 251 members, 76.6% of whom hold a Ph.D., and are respected professors. 

- The student population is 11,229, with many graduates excelling and contributing to both the government and private sectors.
